COMMON was born from a desire to do things differently.
Theo and Vanisha are the founders of Common Barbershop and driving force behind the shop’s two and a half years of growth. Their combined years of experience in hair and specialty coffee has taken them from apprenticeships, to apartment studios and one chair shops to the six chair barbershop and thriving espresso bar that Common is today. As owners, Theo and Vanisha are dedicated to their community, team and love of providing top quality services and coffee.

Since opening their Bowen Hills location in 2023, Theo and Vanisha have continued to evolve the space. In May 2024, they undertook a major renovation to optimise the layout and truly make it their own. Now, they’re excited to share the refreshed space with their team, clients, and community, a reflection of their ongoing commitment to creating the best possible experience for everyone who walks through the doors.

We are now a six-chair barbershop with an in-house espresso bar in Bowen Hills, built to feel more like a shared space than a traditional shop. A place where time feels considered, conversations flow naturally, and even the smallest details are looked after.
The name Common reflects what matters most to us , community. Just like a common park, it’s a place that belongs to everyone. Different people, different styles, one shared space.
